Did Sioux City, Iowa have a corn palace before Mitchell, SD?

Yes, traditional powwows are still celebrated today. There are celebrations held across the State of South Dakota in which South Dakota residents and visitors from around the world can enjoy the exciting ceremony.

My dad and I love to fish and we were wondering what is the biggest fish ever caught in South Dakota?

This is a hard question to answer because there are different species of fish found in South Dakota. For example the largest paddlefish was 120lbs and 12 oz. The largest recorded red shiner was 0.044 oz.

I do not want to travel to California because they have earthquakes. Has South Dakota ever had an earthquake?

According to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources there have been many earthquakes in South Dakota. As of January 2004, South Dakota has had 79 recorded earthquakes.

South Dakota is a long state with many tourists. How many miles do vehicles travel in South Dakota each year?

According to the Department of Transportation, over 8.4 billion miles of travel took place in 2003. The 8.4 billion miles of travel took place on the 83,609 miles of roads in South Dakota.

Throughout the school year Dakota Pathways will air on Mondays and Fridays from 2:15pm – 2:30pm CT. Also, we air Dakota Pathways during the overnight schedule. What age group is Dakota Pathways designed for?

Originally, the show was designed for South Dakota 4th graders; although, Dakota Pathways is enjoyed by people of all ages.
